The mission of the renovation effort

Primary goals

Secondary goals

  1. Enhance and enable the current Plast experience while fostering growth by attracting new members.

  2. Secure a long-term home for Plast Chicago operations that provides flexibility and sustainability (ability to maintain the facility both financially and operationally) for years to come.

  3. Provide the growing Ukrainian community, including the ongoing waves of war refugees, a community center that can better serve as a central hub of Ukrainian diaspora activity.  

  4. Generate excitement around Plast to expand its membership – rally around the Domivka!

  5. Create a new source of donations (e.g., facility rental) to help fund Plast Chicago’s mission.

  • Increased usage of HQ with growth of Plast

  • Increased sense of community at HQ

  • Hub for medkit creation in support of war

  • Gathering place off-hours for various Plast functions

  • Music & sport lessons

  • ESL classes and legal services for war refugees
